Welcome!

My name is Katie (She/Her) and I am a psychotherapist who currently resides in Bozeman, Montana but serves the Montana and Colorado community (I used to live in Boulder and hold that place near and dear to my heart). I love working with adults, young adults (18+) and college students who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions and trauma. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process that leads to positive change, and I am committed to creating spaces for clients to be fully seen, understood and held with empathy and positive regard.

In working with individuals, I use a humanistic approach (emphasis in looking at the whole person, and the uniqueness of each individual), a welcoming space where I am passionate about helping individuals take an active role in addressing what brought them into therapy. Life has its peaks and valleys, in order to navigate these challenges, we work together to bring wholeness, connection, and rediscovery of your strength and purpose in your life. I am sensitive to the parts of ourselves that make us unique, which often includes different expressions of gender, sexuality, culture, socio-economic status, ethnicity, race, political ideology, religion, LGTBQIA2S+ identity, and intersectionality. By integrating different modalities, multicultural sensitivities and evidence-based research, I tune into clients’ individual needs highlighting personal strengths in order to develop skills and create a plan that helps propel them forward in their goals.

With degrees in both Psychology and Clinical Social Work, my experience stems from inside and outside the classroom, within the community and clinical settings, helping adults and young adults navigate a variety of challenges and concerns. Often accompanying me is my therapy dog Wren, specializing in Animal Assisted Therapy, I will partner with Wren in the session who always has a unique way of providing comfort and important doggie insights on life. Outside of work, I am an avid mover-in-nature and often find myself on the river fly-fishing, pedaling my mountain bike up a hill, or joyfully paving through fresh snow on my skis in the backcountry.

Meet Wren

Hi! My name is Wren, I am a 4 yr old Australian Labradoodle and I come from a long line of working therapy dogs from Sunrise Australian Labradoodles. I became a certified therapy dog with Professional Therapy Dogs of Colorado in Fall 2021, as well as ACK Therapy Dog, and have been seeing individual clients ever since. Whether I am in the office or at the hospital seeing people, I bring a warm, welcoming, and goofy personality to the room. I am here to make you laugh, join you in the discovery process, and comfort you when things get tough. When I am not working, I am following my mom on all kinds of different adventures. I am happiest when I am in a field of wildflowers in the backcountry, jumping in and out of big piles of snow or chasing a ball down a grassy field. I can’t wait to meet you!

I look forward to meeting you and determining how to best support your therapeutic goals. Please reach out for a free 20-minute consultation. I respond to online inquiries within one business day. If you need to reach me sooner, you can contact me at katieleiter.therapy@gmail.com
