Anxiety Therapy
Do you ever find yourself feeling nervous or fearful about future
events or tasks? constantly worried or stressed?
Anxiety can put a hindrance on your daily life, leaving you feeling overwhelmed and taxed mentally and physically. With anxiety, going to an event or even just the grocery store can feel like an overwhelming task, making you want to just avoid going altogether. Feeling stressed about things that haven’t happened, or overthinking something that has happened, can make you feel distant and detached from yourself and reality.
Anxiety is our body and brain’s response to perceived danger, it’s the very thing that helped our ancestors survive over thousands of years. There is such a thing as good anxiety and bad anxiety, however, when it is chronic or so severe that it prevents you from living a full life, that is when it needs to be addressed. If you;
avoid of places, people and things
experience rumination over events, experiences, or single thoughts
are hyper-aware of how others perceive you
are hyper-aware of what others are thinking or think about you
believe you are unworthy, stupid, fake, awkward, weird, unlikeable (I promise you are not)
Are still caught up and replaying what happened last week or that time you really said/did the wrong thing
Covid has tripled your anxiety and you are struggling to reintegrate into the community again
I am hear to let you know that I see you, I hear you and I want to help…
How Anxiety Therapy Works…
With anxiety therapy, treatment can look different for everyone. Thats why I start with getting to know you, your signs, symptoms and goals. We work together to identify triggers, problems, and core beliefs that are at the root of your anxiety. I will integrate a combination of Psychoeducation, CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Mindfulness, and Nervous System regulating exercises so that you have immediate tools in your box in combating your anxiety.
For those with more extreme symptoms of anxiety and social anxiety, I utilize EMDR Therapy to help individuals feel regulated in their bodies and desensitize their heightened anxiety responses.
